Cruciate Ligament Damage

 CRUCIATE LIGAMENT DAMAGE

The Cruciate ligaments are found inside the knee joint. They play a vital role in stabilizing the knee while it is moving. When they are damaged the joint becomes unstable and slides too far. Cruciate ligament damage can be partial, i.e. a tear, or completly ruptured, i.e. severed from its attachment to the bone. The joint becomes unstable and the leg weak. Cruciate ligament damage may require surgery.
